Things I like...
A few of my new summer projects:

Liz the Gardener
I'm getting over my fear of growing things in such an arid climate. Hopefully I will be rewarded with fresh salsa and pesto in a few months!

Our tomato plant:

Cilantro, yet to sprout, and basil:

A few hardy succulents for the window:

Liz, the Backgammon Goddess
We found an old backgammon set at a garage sale this weekend and since then our house has been a nonstop ring of fiery competition. Doug and I seem to find endless ways to have fun together, which I think should be a prerequisite for marriage.

So sweet. Looks like you are going to have a wonderful summer! Enjoy your time off.

Can't wait to see your home next month! I'll have to shoot you an email sometime soon--this comment is the best I can do right now.

oooh, I love backgammon! It is very popular in the Middle East. BTW, glad to see my ugly pot is getting put to good use. :-)

p.s. I recommend planting some chocolate mint. I have spearmint and peppermint as well, but the chocolate is my favorite!

Ooh, I've not see chocolate mint--I'll have to be on the lookout!

It has a strong minty chocolate smell like peppermint patties and it is great in both hot and cold teas and hot chocolate! It is also a nice smelling garnish on a chocolate cake or something. So, Hamdy and I played a few rounds of backgammon last night as well! I love to play in the summer out on our sun porch..with a cup of chocolate mint tea!

That tomato plant looks, well, just plain lonely.

oh my gosh... first cribbage, now backgammon? you guys haven't even been married a year and you already sound just like my parents. If you start asking me about grandchildren, that's when I put my foot down.
